Kurt W. Allen
has been writing software for more than 35 years. He was born in 1959 and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1983.  He spent many of the intervening years building push carts, gas powered bicycles, rebuilding cars, and attempting to avoid hurting himself using the same.

His career includes project management at large fortune 500 companies as well as many small startups. He has been software Architect/Project Lead on multiple medical device products. His experience includes development of life-critical medical devices, architecting large scale distributed systems, controlling kilo-horsepower hydraulic systems, and real-time control of dynamic systems.

Kurt specializes in architecture and development of distributed real time systems, communications, real time hardware control, embedded systems, medical devices and medical imaging. He currently holds three patents for a new method for measuring cardiac blood pressure, and has received multiple corporate awards for technical excellence.
He has worked at larger corporations in the Twin Cities area, including Univac, 3M, and MTS.  Kurt has sat on the board of directors of multiple small corporations and community organizations, and currently he is CEO/Owner of Chiron Consulting, a small software consulting house based in Minneapolis.
